What is CCTV ?
Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) is a system that operates on a closed loop, unlike normal television that is available to anyone with suitable receiver. CCTV pictures/images are only available to those directly connected to the closed loop.
Are monochrome cameras the best option for night time surveillance?
At one time the answer would have been yes, however with rapid development in camera technology, colour cameras are now just as effective. Colour cameras are able to identify images in almost total darkness.
Do you have to display CCTV signs?
Signage must be displayed throughout the location.
Is it best to use the tapes provided or can I just purchase tapes from anywhere ?
The videotapes provided with the analogue system have been manufactured specifically for CCTV systems, standard videotapes may damage the video heads within the recorder.
